The City of Wells: is just ten minutes away by car – explore England’s smallest city, with its fantastic Medieval centre and wide variety of unique shops. It has some wonderful attractions including Wells Cathedral – the seat of the Bishop of Bath & Wells, The Bishops Palace – a stunning medieval palace open for all to enjoy and Vicars Close – the oldest complete medieval street in Europe. On Wednesdays and Saturdays the historic market place is home to one of the best Farmers Markets in the region with over 50 stallholders selling a wide range of local produce.

Glastonbury Tor: is known as being one of the most spiritual sites in the country, it has been a site of religious significance for over 1000 years. Take a walk up the Tor and take in the stunning views across the Isle of Avalon, Glastonbury and Somerset.

Glastonbury Abbey: like Tintagel in Cornwall, South Cadbury in Somerset and Caerleon in South Wales, is linked by tradition to King Arthur; Glastonbury Abbey is said to have been his final resting place. At one time it was a second wealthiest abbey in Britain.

Bath : Just 25 miles from our doors. You can enjoy its historic Georgian buildings, Roman spa, cathedral, shopping and a great game of rugby!

Cleeve Abbey: With possibly the finest cloister buildings in England, visitors can get a glimpse of monastic life 800 years ago. 15th century refectory with glorious angel roof and 13th century heraldic tiles.

Dunster Castle : One of the National Trust’s most stunning Somerset properties within easy reach of The Crossways.

Farleigh Hungerford Castle: Impressive 14th century castle with hidden treasures and sinister past. Chapel with rare medieval wall paintings and in the crypt, the best collection of human-shaped lead coffins in Britai.

Glastonbury Tribunal: Fine, late 15th century stone townhouse, early Tudor façade and panelled interiors. Home to Glastonbury Lake Village Museum: discover life 2000 years ago when much of Somerset consisted of marshy sea.

Meare Fish House: The only surviving monastic fishery building in England, this housed the Abbot of Glastonbury’s water bailiff and provided facilities for fish-salting and drying.

Muchelney Abbey: Once a wealthy Benedictine house, the main buildings were demolished by Henry VIII in 1538. See the richly decorated cloister walk and thatched monks’ lavatory – the only one in Britain.

Nunney Castle: Picturesque moated castle built in the 1370s. Held for the King during the Civil War, falling to Parliamentarian cannon in 1645: the gun-damaged wall finally collapsing on Christmas Day 1910.

Clarks Village, Street – 15 mins from The Crossways, this is a bargain hunters dream with well known outlet stores.

Southgate, Bath – historic Bath offers some of the best shopping in The South West.

Cabot Circus, Bristol – less than an hour from The Crossways, this offers great shopping, restaurants and family entertainment.
